∴    We wanted to create a new cupsole that was similar, but different, but similar…and different – almost an impossible equation to decipher. We took an exisiting vulc upper, the Griffin, added it to a high performance cupsole and updated the pattern to reflect the sole’s details. The Griffin XLK offered comfort and performance that a vulcanized shoe could simply not achieve. For the first season, we worked with Nick Jensen, a Lakai rider and ISLE skateboard owner, to create a custom colorway that could portray ISLE and Nick’s tastes. We developed a very simple black suede upper with a white sole – but utilized the sockliner to showcase a geometric painting used in ISLE’s board graphics.
