∴    The Kress was briefed to be designed as a Vans classic for the larger channels of distribution. A simple, price-point shoe that could sell at around $45 – $50 U.S. The idea here combined the classic Era shoe with another famous shoe called the 106 ( both vans shoes ). This design allowed the shoe to be color-blocked in a unique way that resembled the classic looks, but had its own spin.

The Kress did well in the men’s market so the  shoe was eventually brought into the Girl’s Performance Line. Here it was colored up and materialized in a whole new light. The foxing tape was slightly lowered and the last was changed to accommodate a different fit.
